Kwaku Osei as new executive director at The LOVE Building
Meet Kwaku Osei, Our New Executive Director
At The LOVE Building, we’re thrilled to announce that Kwaku Osei is stepping in as our new executive director. Kwaku joins us with a dynamic vision centered on health, wealth, and love—continuing the exceptional work of our founding executive director, Jeanette Lee.
Kwaku's passion for community-driven change and economic empowerment perfectly aligns with our mission. As he takes the reins, we are excited about the fresh perspectives he brings, honed through his work with Farmacy Food and Cooperative Capital. Additionally, Osei currently serves on the boards of the Economic Development Corporation of the City of Detroit, Fair Food Network, the Detroit Community Wealth Fund, Detroit Afrikan Music Institute, and Bridging Communities, Inc.
We are home to six incredible organizations, including Allied Media Projects and the Detroit Community Technology Project. With over $4 million invested in our space, we are dedicated to fostering social justice, creativity, and health. Our five-floor hub is preparing to launch its public programming soon, and Kwaku's leadership is set to propel us forward.
Originally from Virginia but a Detroit resident since 2013, Kwaku has a deep connection to our city. His extensive involvement with local initiatives and boards highlights his commitment to our community. Join us in welcoming Kwaku Osei as we continue to build a brighter future together!
